end of track

Kigoma lies at the end of the over 100-year-old “Central Line” of the Tanzania Railways Company. Once the “BEST KEPT STATION”, today the employees struggle with a lot of talent for improvisation. Despite the limited possibilities, they ensure that the rail operation remains in motion. The travelers greatly appreciate the tireless efforts and accept the desolate conditions of the wagons and delays. The majority of goods are also transported by train to the remote town Kigoma. Under difficult working conditions, the porters empty the goods wagons by hand and regardless of their health. They don't know about regular working hours and social security. More and more discarded wagons are on the siding. How long can and do these people want to continue operating the railway system in this way?
